Lorries and drivers lined up blocking Park Lane during Fuel protest in London in 2000 led by independent lorry owner-operators demanding a reduction of the fuel duty rate on petrol and diesel. Many petrol pumps ran dry in a blockade by farmers and hauliers who were protesting against the increasing price of fuel at 80p a litre.
