Bilston Steelworks Open Hearth furnace in the Black Country West Midlands in the 1978. The open hearth furnaces were charged with scrap metal using a Wellman Open Hearth Furnace charging machine. Four of these were used on a stretch of standard track running along the front of the furnace's. The old furnace'sB,C,and E were fitted with 5 doors and the new G,H,F consisted of 3.
